Detention orders for 4 suspects in Kaşif Kozinoğlu investigation

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, who gave information about the ongoing investigation on his social media account, said, "We are determined not to leave any suspicious deaths in the dark even after many years." he said.

Pointing out that the work is being carried out meticulously in order to reveal the material truth in all its aspects, Gürlek said, "Today, within the scope of the investigation, an arrest and detention decision has been issued for 4 suspects, including the former Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor who served on the date of the incident, the former prison prosecutor and Kozinoğlu's two cellmates." he said.

Stating that 3 suspects were caught and detained in the simultaneous operation carried out in Istanbul and Ankara, Gürlek said, "With the contribution of our Department of Combating Unsolved Crimes, what happened on the night of the death, the judicial proceedings carried out after the incident, the evidence collected and the previous investigation process are being re-examined in a way that will not leave any question marks." He made a statement.

Gürlek, regardless of the time that passes; He underlined that all judicial processes necessary to reveal the material truth, identify those responsible and ensure justice is carried out with determination.

Retired Naval Captain Hasan Ataman Yıldırım, detained in the Ergenekon case, sent a petition to the hearing and told the story of the day his cellmate Kozinoğlu died.

In his petition, in which he gave information about the health status of another ward mate, Hasan Atilla Uğur, Yıldırım said, "Explorer Kozinoğlu kept watch in the ward until 06.30 in the morning for Atilla Uğur, who was sick last week. We thought we might lose Atilla from a heart attack. The explorer woke up at 15.45 that day. We walked together in the courtyard from 16.15. I spent 30 minutes, "Kozinoğlu walked for 60 minutes. Then he went to his room in the ward and did sports for about 45 minutes. I considered this sport as heavy sports, but he was doing this kind of walking and exercising regularly."

In his petition, Yıldırım explained that Kozinoğlu took a shower after sports and described the moment of the incident as follows:

"When Kozinoğlu had pain, he came to Atilla's room at 18.15 and asked for help. We went to the explorer's room. He had severe pain in his chest. His blood pressure was measured as 12.7/20.5 and the emergency button was pressed at 18.17. He was given a sublingual pill. Around 18.35, he did not want to get on the stretcher brought by the staff and even wanted to go down the 19 steps himself. However, he was taken down the stairs on a stretcher by the officers on duty and left the ward in a conscious and talking state.

As we learned later, the prisoner waited in the reception area, conscious, with a pulse, and speaking. 112 emergency came at approximately 18.50 and he was taken to Silivri State Hospital by ambulance, but there was no doctor in the ambulance. Technicians intervened. "He passed away at 19.15 when he contacted another ambulance while he was on the TEM road, joined the other ambulance doctor at the TEM exit, and arrived at Silivri State Hospital."

In his petition, Yıldırım also claimed that 'Kozinoğlu' was taken to the hospital an hour after the first pain occurred.
