Qatar Prime Minister Al Thani calls Netanyahu a war criminal

Al Thani made evaluations about the agenda in his interview with British journalist Piers Morgan's "Piers Morgan Uncensored" program.

Emphasizing that the actions committed in the Gaza Strip are war crimes and that Netanyahu should be held responsible, Al Thani stated that the Israeli Prime Minister is trying to manipulate public opinion and create a false perception of reality by attacking Qatar.

Stating that Netanyahu blames others instead of looking at his own and his government's actions, Al Thani said, "Netanyahu is a war criminal... He is trying to reflect his own actions on others." made his assessment.

Condemning Israel's attack on Doha last year once again, Al Thani noted that attacking mediators set a dangerous precedent and said, "Netanyahu crossed the red line." he said.

REGIONAL CRISIS AND NEGOTIATIONS WITH IRAN

Addressing regional developments, Qatari Prime Minister Al Thani reminded that his country has repeatedly warned about the consequences of the war, whose effects go beyond Iran and the region and threaten the global economy.

Emphasizing that they "spare no effort" in seeking diplomatic solutions to reach an agreement between the USA and Iran in coordination with the US administration, Al Thani stated that the mediation process is not easy, but "diplomacy behind closed doors" is the most effective method to make progress.

Al Thani pointed out that 3 basic files need to be resolved in order to reduce the tension in the region and listed them as follows:

"First, reaching a nuclear agreement that satisfies the US side and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), while also guaranteeing Iran's right to peaceful nuclear energy by lifting sanctions. Second, ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring that any agreement on this issue is subject to international law. Third, improving security arrangements in the region, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Iran."
