Fire in wedding hall in KDC: 22 dead

According to the news in the national media, a fire broke out in the Panacee hall in the Lingwala district of the capital, while the wedding ceremony was going on, for an unknown reason.

When the fire started, panic and stampede occurred in the hall.

According to initial findings, 22 people lost their lives and many people were injured in the fire.

While the injured were taken to various health institutions in the capital, an investigation was launched to determine the cause of the fire.

Following the fire, DRC Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Jacquemain Shabani ordered the security conditions of wedding halls and venues where public events are held across the country to be inspected.

Shabani demanded that venues that do not meet safety standards be closed immediately.
