No casualties were found in the efforts carried out to find the 13 missing people in the wreckage of the cruise ship that sank off the coast of Kyrenia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on August 30. It was stated that the navigational data recorder known as the "black box", which is of critical importance in elucidating the incident, was found.

A new development has occurred in the search efforts to find 13 people who disappeared as a result of the sinking of the passenger ship "Filo Jet" off the coast of Kyrenia, TRNC, on August 30. It was learned that the wreckage of Filo Jet was examined in detail during the studies carried out with the specially equipped ship "Optimus Prime", but no missing persons were found.

Authorities informed the relatives of the missing about the latest status of the work at the Crisis Desk. It was stated that the authorities informed the families that "The ship was destroyed into pieces, no one was found" and photographs showing the parts of the ship regarding the work carried out were shared with the families. Search efforts continue in the air, on land and at sea for 13 people, including Ferdi Törer, Mehmet Nuri Ayran, brothers Mustafa Demir and Mahmut Demir, Özgür Gönül, Anni Asel Hilaloğlu, Süleyman Erdoğan, brothers Saliha Miray Biçer and Mehmet Asaf Biçer, Orhan Bekret, spouses Yulia Özcan and Ayhan Özcan and Nihat Pancar.

239 PEOPLE WERE SAVED

The high-speed passenger ship named Filo Jet, which operates between Kyrenia Port and Taşucu Port in Mersin, started to take in water from its front section shortly after departing from Kyrenia on August 30. 239 people were rescued from the capsized ship. The wreckage of the sunken Fleet Jet was later detected off the coast of Kyrenia at a depth of approximately 554 meters.
