Zelenskiy: Trump made the final decision on the production of Patriot missiles

According to the Ukrainian press, Zelenskiy evaluated the recent meetings he held in New York on the occasion of the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) with journalists and talked about some details of his meeting with Trump.

Reminding that they had previously requested a license from the United States to produce the missiles used in the Patriot air defense system in order to prevent ballistic missile attacks, Zelenskiy stated that they also discussed this issue in their meeting with Trump.

Zelenskiy said, "There are certain agreements. President Trump emphasized that he made the final decision in his last meeting with me. Ukraine will receive a license for the production of Patriot missiles." he said.

Stating that they also discussed the efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine War during the meeting, Zelenskiy noted that the US side suggested holding a tripartite technical meeting with Russia and said, "We are waiting for suggestions from the US regarding the date. Regarding the location, the US suggested the United Arab Emirates (UAE)." he said.

Stating that US officials will meet with the Russian side and convey Kiev's suggestions to Moscow, Zelenskiy stated that they will meet with the US again on the issue in 10 days.

Zelenskiy noted that they are working with Turkey, Egypt, India and Middle Eastern countries to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea and that some offers in this direction are on the table, and said that they have not yet received a response from Russia on this issue.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy also talked about the latest developments on the front line within the scope of the war.

Referring to the counter attack launched by the Ukrainian army towards the Port district in the Donetsk region, Zelenskiy said, "I will be very careful about what I say until the operation is completed. I want to thank our soldiers, there are positive developments there. There is positive news about the Port and beyond. What is the next strategic goal? First of all, let's achieve this strategic goal." he said.
