New aid package of 88 million pounds from the UK for Gaza and the West Bank

According to the statement made by the British Foreign Office, Minister Ed Miliband hosted a meeting on humanitarian aid to Gaza within the scope of the United Nations General Assembly, together with his Qatari and Jordanian counterparts.

In this context, it was stated that the new aid package worth 88 million pounds will be used for the health, clean water and hygiene services needed in Gaza and the West Bank, and details about the areas where this money will be used were also shared.

In the statement, it was stated that the package will be used in medical consultancy services expected to serve 900 thousand people, prosthetics and rehabilitation for 1000 children with explosive wounds, purification of waste water for 900 thousand people, tankers to carry clean water to 150 thousand people, and psychosocial and mental health support to 21 thousand people.

1.4 MILLION PEOPLE HAVE BENEFITED ASSISTANCE SINCE 2023

It was stated in the statement that 1.4 million people have benefited from the food aid provided by the UK to Palestine since October 2023, while water and cleaning services have reached 830 thousand people.
