Indictment regarding the fatal traffic accident in Konya was accepted

The indictment prepared against driver Hasan K., who was arrested within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was accepted by the 8th High Criminal Court.

In the indictment, which included criminal records and population records, law enforcement reports, complainant statements and the statements of the defendant Hasan K, it was stated that on the day of the incident, the defendant passed on the street with his commercial taxi at a speed of 113 kilometers, violating the red light, then lost control of the vehicle and hit mother Dilek (53) and daughter Ecrin Öz (13), who were walking on the sidewalk at that time, causing their deaths.

In the indictment, the driver is "primarily at fault"

The indictment, which reportedly examined footage of the moment of impact, included the following statements:

"After the incident, the camera device in the vehicle, the security camera images taken from the surrounding workplaces and the city security cameras were examined and given to the expert committee, and in the report received, it was stated that the defendant was primarily at fault in the accident, and that the deceased had no fault. It was understood that the defendant acted with conscious negligence in the incident, which caused the accident by violating the red light at a speed of 113 kilometers per hour, and then hit two people, causing them to die. In the examination of the defendant's blood, no alcohol or drugs were found, and no drugs were found. It has been understood that the crime has been proven."

It was requested that the defendant Hasan K be sentenced to 2 years and 8 months to 22.5 years in prison for the crime of "consciously negligent homicide".

Dilek Öz and her daughter Ecrin Öz, who were walking on the pavement at Fetih Street Büyük Kumköprü Junction in Konya on July 15, lost their lives when they were hit by a taxi with license plate 42 TT 154, driven by Hasan K. The injured driver, Hasan K., was arrested after his treatment.

It was stated that the speed limit on the road where the accident occurred was 60 kilometers per hour and the driver violated the red light and speed limit.
