The Israeli army announces the killing of two Hamas commanders in the Gaza Strip

The Israeli army announced that it had killed two Hamas commanders in the Gaza Strip, described as being involved in attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers and in the organization's activities after 7 October 2023. According to the IDF, Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr, a member of international jihadist organizations active in the Strip, supplied weapons to Hamas during the war and participated in the attack on 7 October 2023. He entered Israel and drove the motorcycle used to bring Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or, kidnapped from the Nova music festival, to the Strip. The Israeli army also claimed that Sakr had recently promoted attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. “He was eliminated to remove the threat he posed,” the military said in an X post.

Ghabain was also eliminated: he held nine Israelis hostage

Last week, in another Israeli attack in northern Gaza, Muhammad Hamad Muhammad Ghabain was killed, the Israeli army and Shin Bet said. Ghabain, Hamas commander, allegedly held nine Israeli citizens hostage after October 7: Ziv Berman, Gali Berman, Eitan Mor, Liri Albag, Agam Berger, Matan Angrest, Omri Miran, Keith Siegel and Alon Ohel. Recently, according to the Israel Defense Forces, Ghabain was involved in organizing attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and restoring Hamas' capabilities, "in systematic violation of the ceasefire." Again the IDF claimed that the killing occurred to "eliminate the threat he posed".
