Minister Sira Rego recognizes the Government's responsibility in the overflow situation in Ceuta

The Minister of Youth and Children, Sira Rego, has sent Ceuta society a message of self-criticism and solidarity, recognizing that the Government has "a part of responsibility" in the situation of "extraordinary overflow" experienced after the entry of thousands of migrants.

In an interview on Radio 5, the minister referred this Saturday to the criticism that has been leveled at the Executive due to the situation in Ceuta, stating that "it is important to be self-critical" and "take charge."

"It is true that we have a part of the responsibility, obviously. It is true that there was a situation of extraordinary overflow and the coordination should have been more efficient or faster," he explained, adding that he has seen situations "that we obviously do not like."

He has assured that "everything possible must be done to repair, to resolve and to attend to the citizens of Ceuta, and to the people who are in a situation of vulnerability and who in humanitarian terms require that attention", since "both things can be done at the same time" against the "ultras" speeches of the right that he has harshly criticized.
