Trump accuses Iran of attempted hijacking of Flydubai flight to Tel Aviv

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of being behind the attempted hijacking of a Tel Aviv-bound Flydubai flight, after the Omani co-pilot assaulted the captain and tried to crash the plane. Israel had prepared fighters to shoot down the aircraft over its territory, but recalled them when the plane turned towards Saudi Arabia, where it made an emergency landing. The co-pilot confessed to having acted to avenge Gaza. Meanwhile, the Houthis have claimed attacks against Riyadh airport and Aramco facilities, while Israel reports an increase in Hamas activities ahead of the October 27 elections. Israeli forces also raided the Balata refugee camp in the West Bank, arresting a young man. Finally, Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia held a meeting in Riyadh to coordinate collective defense against Houthi attacks, without directly mentioning Iran or Yemeni rebels in the joint statement.
