The history of the Monza Autodromo told through Poste Italiane stamps

The wait for the Italian Grand Prix lights up the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, but the history of the "Temple of Speed" also passes through philately.

Among the most representative issues is that of 2022: the stamp dedicated to the centenary of the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, inaugurated in 1922 and which over time has become one of the most famous circuits in world motorsport. The image depicts a phase of the second Italian Grand Prix held in Monza, celebrating a place that has accompanied generations of drivers and enthusiasts and which continues to represent a symbol of motor sport.

The history of Formula 1 also finds space in the issues dedicated to Ferrari. In 2001 a stamp celebrated the conquest of the world title by the Scuderia di Maranello, paying homage to one of the most significant successes of the Italian sporting tradition.

This journey is completed by the issue dedicated to the Automobile Club of Italy (ACI), which for over a century has supported the development of national motoring and promotes the culture of mobility, road safety and motor sport.

The relationship between philately and motoring was also celebrated in 1997, with a leaflet dedicated to the "Ferrari Day" organized as part of the World Philately Exhibition in Milan. A further recognition of the sporting and cultural value assumed by the automobile in the history of the country.

Through these issues, Poste Italiane returns a story made up of circuits, champions and great sporting achievements, in which Monza occupies a central place.
