Paris FC wins 3-0 against OGC Nice for its first home match of the season

To the rhythm of the songs and drums of the Ultras Lutetia, for the first of the season at the Jean-Bouin stadium, Paris FC stood strong, resisting both the wind that whipped the capital and the assaults of OGC Nice. The ambitious Parisian club, after a draw at Troyes a week earlier (0-0), launched its season on Sunday during the 2nd day of Ligue 1 (3-0).

For a long time, we had the impression of watching a big friendly match, a sort of last full-scale rehearsal before the start of the season. The two teams spent the first 45 minutes sharing possession of the ball, the highlights and the weaknesses, without ever finding inspiration. The only bright spot came, as was often the case last season in Paris, from Ilan Kebbal.

Taking advantage of a long ball misjudged by the Nice defense, the Algerian international invited himself into the area, and his dexterity with the ball led to the foul by Youssouf Ndayishimiye (17th). After checking the VAR, the penalty allowed Lassine Sinayoko to open his score in the navy blue jersey (21st, 1-0). The summer recruit (€7.5 million from Auxerre) nevertheless experienced a painful first time at home, often called upon with his back to goal and eaten up in each duel by Ndayishimiye.

The PFC, however, had the merit of being disciplined and rigorous, leaving only crumbs to the Aiglons who did not know what to do with them. A harmless strike from Nathan Ngoumou (35th) and another closer to the target from Jonathan Clauss (45th) were not likely to satisfy Olivier Pantaloni, who often looked helpless in his technical zone.

The Nice coach remained glued to his bench when the PFC made the break, at the initiative of a burst from Samir Chergui behind the back of Melvin Bard. In his momentum, the Algerian called from deep and was served by his compatriot Kebbal, before crossing a shot worthy of an attacker, and not of a defender, author of his 5th goal in 118 matches with Paris (51st, 2-0).

The Azuréens then dispersed and could have sunk if Kebbal had not tried too hard in the last meters. They survived the storm and found this second wind, resulting in shots from Clauss (68th) and Xavier Mandza-Tsiendi (69th) on which Kevin Trapp stood out.

The opportunity took place, Nice let it pass, and the Parisian rigor made it possible to ratify the score, increased not thanks to Patrick Zabi, who scored a face-to-face in front of Yehvann Diouf while a partner was alone on the side (86th), but by Vincent Marchetti, opportunist at the penalty spot (89th, 3-0).
