Lexus announced its first 3-row pure electric SUV, the TZ, which will be launched in the U.S. market at the end of this year. It will be available in three models: TZ 450e Premium AWD, Touring and Luxury, starting at US$64,050 (approximately NT$2.03 million). The TZ uses the same platform as the Toyota electric Highlander and is positioned as a large SUV that combines luxury, space and pure electric performance.

In terms of power, TZ offers two battery capacities of 76.96kWh and 95.82kWh. The former has an EPA-estimated cruising range of up to 253 miles (approximately 407 kilometers), while the latter has an estimated cruising range of up to 315 miles (approximately 507 kilometers). All models come standard with the upgraded DIRECT4 four-wheel drive system, which adopts a dual-motor configuration and has a combined maximum horsepower of 308 horsepower.

The body dimensions are 5,100 mm long, 1,989 mm wide, 1,704 mm high, and the wheelbase is 3,050 mm. The vehicle size is approximately the same as the Hyundai IONIQ 9 and Volvo EX90.

Lexus has also made exclusive adjustments for the TZ, including suspension, dynamic rear-wheel steering and strengthened body structure, hoping to differentiate it from cars on the same platform. The car is equipped with the latest Lexus Interface multimedia system, which supports customized Widgets, upgraded voice assistant and digital instrument full-screen navigation, and also adds electric vehicle navigation functions such as EV Routing and EV Range Map.

In terms of charging, TZ supports up to 150kW DC fast charging, which can charge from 10% to 80% in about 35 minutes. It also adopts a NACS charging interface and can directly use Tesla Supercharger super charging stations.

The entry-level Premium model is expected to go on sale by the end of this year, with Touring and Luxury models arriving in early 2027.
