China News Service, Nanning, September 29th (Huang Lingyan) The Information Office of the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region held a press conference on the 28th to introduce that the 8th China-ASEAN Audiovisual Week with the theme of "AI Empowerment, Co-creation and Sharing" will open in Beihai, Guangxi on October 19th, and will continue to deepen audiovisual cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN countries through six major activities.
The 8th China-ASEAN Audiovisual Week is co-sponsored by the State Administration of Radio and Television, the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and other relevant departments. It is jointly organized by the Radio and Television Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Beihai Municipal People's Government, Guangxi Radio and Television Station, Guangxi Publishing and Media Group, and national television stations of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. This audio-visual week has been included in a series of commemorative activities to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership.

Yang Yong, deputy director of the International Cooperation Department of the State Administration of Radio and Television, introduced on the same day that this audio-visual week will hold the opening ceremony and evening party of the audio-visual week in Guangxi, China, Hanoi, Vietnam and other places, the first China-ASEAN Micro Short Drama Competition, the 2026 China-ASEAN Youth Six major events include the 2026 Anchor Creation Camp, the 2026 China-ASEAN Audiovisual International Communication Excellent Case Exchange and Exhibition Event, the 8th China-ASEAN Audiovisual Week Translation Exhibition Event, and "Singing Friendship Songs Together"-2026 China-Vietnam Golden Melody Music Festival.
The opening ceremony of the Audiovisual Week was co-organized by Radio China Hong Kong and vividly told the story of building a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future in the form of "digital + art" and "culture + technology". The China-ASEAN audiovisual international communication excellent case exchange and exhibition event focuses on displaying the results of exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the field of radio, television and audiovisual in the past two years, promoting the integration of public opinion and cultural symbiosis. The "Singing Friendship Songs Together" event launched the "Top Ten Sino-Vietnamese Golden Songs" online singing on Vietnamese social platforms, and will hold a music ceremony in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 30 to build a solid foundation for Sino-Vietnamese cultural exchanges by singing golden songs together.
For the first time, the 2026 China-ASEAN Youth Anchor Creation Camp gathered "family portraits" from 11 ASEAN countries. 31 young anchors from China and ASEAN countries went to Beijing, Nanning, and Bandar Seri Begawan for study. Through theme exchanges, city studies, and short video production, they jointly told the story of China-ASEAN friendly exchanges and win-win cooperation with a youth perspective and vivid voice.
The first China-ASEAN Micro-Short Drama Competition is innovatively held to build an integrated platform for cross-border collection, joint creation, and project promotion, and encourages Chinese and ASEAN creators to work together to create cross-border audio-visual works that are down-to-earth and popular with the people. The results of the competition will be announced at the opening ceremony. The "China-ASEAN Micro-Shorts International Communication Development Report" will be released to build a production, communication, promotion, and copyright transaction docking platform for award-winning teams and works, assist in the implementation and incubation of outstanding projects, and promote China-ASEAN micro-shorts cooperation from exchange and display to market docking and industry collaboration.
In the ongoing translation and broadcast activities, co-produced documentaries such as "Ark Bryde's Whale" and "Chopsticks in Southeast Asia" and co-produced micro-short dramas such as "Sawadika - A Romance in Thailand" will be translated and broadcast on mainstream audio-visual platforms in China and ASEAN.
The Audio-Visual Week closely follows "AI empowerment", providing the creators of the micro-short drama competition with an AI short-play co-creation platform and computing power support, and promoting the application of AI in micro-short drama creation, dubbing, dissemination and distribution; the "Singing Friendship Song" activity empowers bilingual song co-creation through AI, making technology a new engine for cooperation.
