The article is a collection of contributors to Dagens Nyheter who comment on current political events, including the Liberals' party leader Simona Mohamsson's attempt to approach the Sweden Democrats, debate on pensioners' conditions, criticism of the media's tone of voice and DN's perceived bias.
In Current Affairs yesterday, it was embarrassing to see how the Liberals' party leader Simona Mohamsson with her dog's eyes pleaded with Jimmie Åkesson with a hug to be part of his team. He openly declared that SD is not a bourgeois party. Among other things, they want to remove all "Muse Pigg education" from universities. L wants a constitutionally protected academic freedom (UNT 2/9). It is not true that the Tidö parties scare that Sweden would have the most left-wing government that has ever existed. V is today less left than S was in the past. Does L not understand that SD hates liberal values, and with SD as the largest government party, Sweden will not become what true liberals want? In Germany in the 30s, people were hypnotized by a wolf in sheep's clothing...

Why aren't the pensions included in the election speech? We have done our duty and we are many. And we have learned to vote.

About tone of conversation and focus in the media's coverage: A thank you to Jonas Sjöstedt (V) for a very good article in today's DN about factual tone and where the focus ends up in the media. Above all, SVT's coverage, which has been subject to all criticism. The politicians have a responsibility for the tone of the debate, but also the media, which infantilizes politics and turns everything into a joke program - as entertainment with forced conflicts. We need more cooperation and adult conversations. Not play programs and pie throwing.
Britt Burstrom
Thank you, Jonas Sjöstedt (V), for your wise and sensible opinions in DN Kultur! They made me remember what it could be like when serious and mature party leaders could converse even if they had different opinions. I really wish the conversation climate could be more adult. Brace yourselves, party leaders!
Birgitta Lundh, Nyköping
If the Social Democrats' loss of opinion is due to many voters turning against the old workers' party's right turn - then there is hope that S will reform into a genuine left-wing alternative to the repressive, populist and xenophobic right and to the neoliberal Center Party. The Magdalena Andersson line has reached the end of the road. The Social Democrats should choose a new leadership.

It rains promises of one thing or the other about contributions criss-crossing. Mostly for families with children, which is good in and of itself. But there are no requirements for the grants. A family with millions in income gets as much as a family that really needs a little support. But not a word, not a syllable, from any party about the plight of pensioners. I personally manage, because it works out. Many others would really need help. Before 2026, we received a few hundreds of dollars. It is shameful how society treats us who in my case have toiled for over 60 years. Shame on all parties!
Peter Eriksson
Use your right colors, Tidö! You are the blue side, all your parties have blue symbols! The yellow color has the Green Party's flower, not your color. All Swedes have the blue colors like our common flag. Be honest and don't cut our common color!
Annie Thudén
The attempt to paint over the "blue-brown" with "blue-yellow" in the Tidö team appears to be cosmetic as long as Jimmie Åkesson (SD) is allowed to be team captain. Red card for that.
Mikael Albinson
Ebba Busch (KD) with her Old Testament background gets an extension from Jimmie Åkesson (SD), which makes me think of the first commandment in the Law of Moses: "Thou shalt have no other gods beside me." So speaks the one who rules Sweden. Order in the ranks, no left-wing chatter here!

The policy huggers
When Simona now hugged Jimmy so nice
Ebba wants to hug Magdalena
And Danne and 'Manda
they probably crash 'bart
Never only with the one
On the edge of the sandbox, Uffe sits so sullenly
And wants Ebba's hugs again
On his side of the box there is something tricky
In this hugging drama of the huggers
And 'Lisbet she thinks well
best if she soon
and with whom she
themselves in a hug shall unite
The one like no other
definitely want to hug
Is little Nooshi sitting alone

Regardless of who will form the government, I urge you to establish a Ministry of People's Movements. Association life is one of Sweden's foundations.

The crows get dog pellets and the chaffinch breadcrumbs. A small apology for seizing such an enormous part of nature and also soon with our emissions making large parts uninhabitable. I secretly plant a birch by an old stump. It can do little good. A two-centimeter rowan can grow in a pot for a while longer. I will probably never see these plants of mine become big trees, but my grandchildren will know that I thought of them both when choosing the party that gets my vote and when I put the spade in the ground.

Can someone explain why renewable diesel costs around SEK 12 more per liter than the government-subsidized "regular" diesel. And why it is never discussed by politicians. Why is the renewable diesel not subsidized?

In the TV schedule there is a long series of repeats. In addition to the news, interesting programs are shown in Kunskapskanalen, which is to be discontinued. Then where should older viewers find programs?

Now students in primary school are prohibited from using their mobile phones during school hours. The Public Health Agency recommends that children under the age of 13 should not have a smart phone. But we adults don't get recommendations on how we should relate to mobile phones. I have been in three "waiting rooms" recently and there was an adult who was reading a book, the others were busy with their mobile phones. When I was riding a bus some time ago, a man with a walker got on and I tried to find a seat for him, I asked a woman to move a bag - "quiet, I'm on the phone". With a little help from other passengers, woman moved the bag. Is it perhaps time for demobilization?

"There is no technical solution that allows us to continue burning fossil fuels" (DN Ledare). Well, there is family planning that can balance this olat. If not, the universe will arrange the matter, probably in a more brutal way. Cooperation between family planning and emission reduction is desirable.

Yes, how are we going to manage the electrification of the cars in Sweden without new nuclear power, Hakon Malmborg (Noted on August 31)? According to Vattenfall, approximately 12 terawatt hours (TWh) are required to electrify the entire car fleet. Last year, Sweden net exported 33.4 TWh. I think that's enough.

Tonight Italy's volleyball ladies play against the Swedes. I will hold Engonu, Antropova, Sully and all the other Italians, but also Isabelle Haak, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport the "phenomenon": an eighty kilo girl, 195 centimeters tall player, but a phenomenon in terms of strength, resilience and sense of play. In her and in most other volleyball ladies, you can see most clearly the difference between people. Apart from the fact that these women are upwards of two meters tall and have bodies shaped by long and intense training, only giants can play at the front of the net when it comes to volleyball. Just like in basketball and many other sports, they have an innate advantage, "talent", which means success both athletically and financially.

Opinions about DN
DN's Facts in the Question today addresses the possible profit withdrawal of the free school owners and makes a big point of accounting technical details, which frankly are irrelevant and sometimes even deliberately misleading - either to minimize/avoid tax or to make it difficult for the taxpayers and the media to trace the path and end goal of the money, the real owners. If the profits are withdrawn continuously or accumulated during a sale several years later is, for example, completely uninteresting. The otherwise ambitious Fakta team gets bogged down in technicalities and thereby misses the whole point: A greater or lesser part of the tax we pay for our children's education does not go to their education as intended. It seeps or flows out, sometimes even abroad.

First, I want to announce that I am not a Sweden Democrat. Have voted C, L and M for the last 50 years. I grew up in a liberal home where DN was as obvious as the morning newspaper. Have always appreciated many of DN's writers. Decided at the last election, 2022, to follow what DN writes about the Tidö gang as government. Have also followed the submissions page during these years and unfortunately came to the conclusion that DN is no longer a liberal newspaper but a mouthpiece for the Social Democrats and the Green Party. The DN editorial team has worked with full force for four years to get one more new S-led government. Sad! As for the submissions page, it is only filled with joke drawings of Jimmie Åkesson and occasionally a drawing of the Tidögänget. So incredibly predictable! It must be a requirement from above that the entire submission page must be filled with criticism of the current government and above all Jimmie. I think it's sad to now end my subscription to DN, but I can no longer bear to read about all the misery that the current government has caused. I think that the entire DN editorial board can uncork the champagne and celebrate a social democratic victory on September 13. As hard as you have worked for it for four years. Now say thank you for me after at least 60 years with DN as a morning newspaper.
