Japan's LINE Yahoo announced a number of service updates at the LINE 15th anniversary event in July this year. Among them, for the "LYP Premium" with a monthly fee of 650 yen (approximately NT$131), it announced that it would add four LINE functions: "Message Editing", "Premium Blocking", "Message Reservation" and "Call Recording (tentative name)", and it is expected to be provided gradually from the fall of 2026.
However, not all 4 functions are officially launched at once. According to the plan announced by LINE Yahoo Japan, relevant functions will be available for early access through LINE Labs starting in August, and will become a LYP Premium paid membership benefit after the fall.
At present, "Message Editing" has taken the lead in testing in LINE Labs, while "Premium Blocking", "Message Reservation" and "Call Recording" are still to be launched later.
Among them, "Message Editing" allows users to modify the content of a message within 15 minutes after it is sent. If a typo, date error or want to adjust the text is found, there is no need to retract the entire message and then resend it like in the past. According to the usage method announced by LINE Taiwan, text messages in one-to-one and group chat rooms can be edited within 15 minutes after being sent; Keep notes can be modified within 6 days after being sent. After editing is completed, an "edited" mark will be displayed next to the message.
"Premium Blocking" further strengthens the existing blocking function. In addition to no longer receiving messages from the designated person, you can also quietly make your account disappear from the other person's friend list, further increasing the user's control over friend relationships and privacy.
"Message Scheduling" allows you to specify the date and time for message transmission in advance, and the system will automatically send the message at the set time. Users do not have to wait until the specified time to manually send the message.
Another feature that has attracted attention is "call recording (tentative name)". According to the plan announced by Japan's LINE Yahoo, in the future, LINE calls can be recorded and recorded, and the call content can be analyzed through AI, converted into text, and saved. According to a report by Japanese media "ITmedia", when the user activates the recording or video recording function, the call screen will also show the other party that the call is being recorded, to avoid recording or video recording without the other party's knowledge.
LINE Yahoo Japan stated that these four functions are expected to become new member benefits of LYP Premium. During the LINE Labs testing period, even if you are not a LYP Premium member, you can try out the related functions that have been opened for testing.
In Taiwan, "Message Editing" is currently still in the free trial phase of LINE Labs. LINE stated that after the trial period ends, this feature will be exclusive to LINE Premium members, and the exact date will be announced separately.
