Users who are accustomed to using LINE's "Silent Message" function, please note that LINE has recently announced that starting from early November, silent messages will be changed to an exclusive function for LINE Premium members, which means that this originally free function will have to pay 165 yuan per month to use. Although the official date has not yet been announced, as the time has entered early November, the free use days may be "capped" at any time.

The biggest advantage of "Silent Message" is that when sending a message, it will not trigger notification sounds, pop-up windows or push reminders on the other party's phone. Even if you suddenly think of something in the middle of the night and want to send a message to a friend, you don't have to worry about disturbing the other party's rest.

LINE launched "Silent Message" as early as June 2020, and has been putting this feature in LINE Labs for users to try for free for about 6 years. The so-called LINE Labs is an experimental platform used by LINE to test new features, allowing users to experience features that have not yet been officially launched. Now, as LINE continues to expand the benefits of Premium subscription members, silent messages have also become paid.

If you have never used "Silent Message" in the past and want to take advantage of the last free period to try it, you can go to LINE "Settings" → "LINE Labs" and turn on the "Silent Message" function. Then enter text in the chat room and long press the send button. The "Silent Message" option will appear. Click it to send the message without disturbing the other party.
