Bailey was too quick, too strong and too clever. He fended the tackle of Nankervis off like he was nothing, gave the handball and quickly got it back again deep in the pocket, but wheeling around and snapping a beauty. Back to 21 points and the Lions look sharp again.
Charlie Cameron goals to settle the Lions down
Alex Neal-Bullen had a shot on goal to make it a four-point contest but missed it, and from the resulting kick-in the Lions have gone end to end.
McKenna was excellent in keeping the ball in front of himself with a toepoke before skewing a kick around the body to Cameron. Charlie has three, the Lions have a gap again.
Darcy Fogarty again! Four in a row for Adelaide!
Just as quickly as it had slipped away, the Crows have pulled it back. Goals from transition, turnover and now from a centre bounce.
The clearance from Dawson wasn't pretty but Ah Chee won the crucial 50-50 contest to keep it going forward. Fogarty marked Berry's kick and converted again. We have seen some very strange football this weekend.

And just like that, a game of footy has broken out.
Adelaide are taking the ball through the middle whenever they can and are sticking some tackles now, forcing the odd turnover. Rankine, Walker and Rachele were all involved in the crucial chain of handball at half-forward, releasing Fogarty who finished low and hard. 16 points, against all odds.

A couple more missed chances at the Lions' end, but Rachele takes his and looks to ignite his side with a spirited celebration.
It started with a down-field free kick conceded by Cameron, and from there the Crows had numbers out the back. Rachele marked and snapped truly, bringing the margin back to 22 points.

The first five minutes of this game was some of the most devastating footy we've seen all season, eclipsing even Freo's fast start last night. The Lions were nothing short of outstanding, the Crows barely even present in the game.
Since then though things have levelled out. The Lions missed some chances, perhaps making up for some of the insane goals they kicked earlier, and the Crows started to find some footy.
The margin is 27 points, which really isn't that bad for Adelaide considering the way things were shaping up. It's still a long way back, but it's not terminal just yet.
Luke Nankervis takes a big mark and goals for the Crows
It's been a relatively even game in the last 15 minutes or so, but the Crows are coming from such a long way back. That will help them though, Nankervis getting up the back of Levi Ashcroft to take the grab before kicking the goal.
Couple of minutes left in the first, it's a 28-point game.
Charlie Cameron slots his second for the Lions
A really poor turnover coming off half-back has just about gifted the Lions a sixth goal of the term. Hipwood cut the ball off in the middle of the ground and had a handful of players to choose from inside 50.
He picked Charlie and Charlie did the rest. Queue Country Roads.
Dan Curtin kicks Adelaide's first
Phew! The game had settled down after those initial minutes of madness and the Crows had managed some field position without really looking threatening.
A slick counter-attack caught the Lions defence out a bit there and Cook's clever pass found Curtin. The young gun drilled his set shot and has given his side a pulse. Belatdely.
Harris Andrews hits the post
Jeez, that would have just about capped it off. Harris Andrews hasn't kicked a goal in three years, but he's hit the post there from a set shot directly in front.
Meanwhile Dayne Zorko is sucking them all in here. He is provoking and drawing and collapsing with the best of them, and has played his part in a 100 metre penalty for Andrews which took the ball from end to end.

This is cooked. The Lions have just strolled straight out of the middle again, Rayner shrugging off a tackle before getting to 45 and nailing his shot on the run. Insane footy.

Not only have the Lions kicked four goals in the first three minutes, they have all been absolute rippers. This time McCluggage has drilled one on the run from 50 out, right on the boundary.
The Crows haven't turned up. This is not looking good.

Shades of the 2023 grand final there from Bailey as he skirts the boundary line in the left forward pocket before running away into space and nailing his snap. Everything the Lions touch is turning to gold.

Incredible Lions start, and an absolute carbon copy of last night! Two stunning goals before the Crows have managed to touch the ball.
Rayner dropped a mark inside 50 that he should have taken, but it matters little when Charlie is roaming. He takes the ball in the same pocket Lohmann just scored from and dribbled through a gem of a goal.

The ball was scrambled forard by the lines with some kicks off the deck, and when given half a chance deep in the pocket Lohmann was absolutely brilliant. Sensational finish, Lions are away.
Ready to rumble at the Gabba
With the Welcome to Country and national anthem completed we are just about ready to go here.
Last night we saw Fremantle answer some doubts immediately with an incredibly fast start against the Cats, and I reckon we might see something similar from Brisbane here tonight. All eyes on that star-studded Lions midfield, which is taking shape now as we count down to the bounce.
There's a buzz around the Gabba as the siren sounds. The second semifinal is underway.

The Crows form a tight huddle together before they break through the banner to the acclaim of the small pockets of Crows fans here.
That noise is quickly obliterated by the roar for the Lions as they break through, accompanied by flames and fireworks and fanfare. This is Brisbane's final game at home this season and the Gabba crowd looks set to make the most of it.
