Magdalena Andersson faces a government crisis after allegations of election fraud and the demands of the Left Party

It has been a week for Magdalena Andersson. The S leader barely managed to get the task of trying to stitch together a government, before the news of suspected election fraud in Borlänge broke and the Left Party was once again thrown into crisis.

As if the basic situation was not enough: the Center Party refuses to sit in government together with the Left Party, and the Left in turn demands ministerial posts to even open the door to government negotiations.

Whoever gets both parties to gather in the same room at the moment seems to need a sword worthy of Alexander the Great. The V crisis and the accusations of election fraud combined with Nooshi Dadgostar's crisis management have, if possible, locked the situation in the negotiations even more.

In this dark week for the Social Democrats, the party's group leader, Lena Hallengren, was happy to say that they had formed "a cartel" to secure the influence of the four red-green parties in the Riksdag's committees. The group leaders of S, C, V and MP had even managed to have a joint meeting – a glimmer of hope!

S believes that the largest party in the Riksdag should have the post of speaker by tradition. In this grouping there was also a chance to get a majority of the Riksdag behind that stance. A new speaker will set the pace for the upcoming speaker rounds, and within S there is strong resistance to letting a moderate dictate the terms.

Now both Ekot and DN learn that the Left Party is instead considering Tidösidan's candidate. To the TV4 news, Nooshi Dadgostar says that Speaker Andreas Norlén (M) has done his job well. This is what a negotiation threat via the media looks like.

Rumors, suspicions and angry feelings are now flowing between the red and green parties, just everything that does not lay the foundation for a good negotiation. And even less government cooperation.

A source with insight tells DN that the Left Party's actions are based on the fact that they do not think that either S or MP have come to Dadgostar's defense during the latest crisis, and that V is worried about being snuffed out for the third deputy speaker post. Is that right? Regardless, the talk is on Magdalena Andersson's side of politics.

In addition to the SD resistance, it is difficult to find a common political project. Support is needed from C and V, two parties at opposite ends of economic policy. Magdalena Andersson's vision for a future S-led government therefore seems to revolve around the climate and the green transition.

Right now, lack of trust is the most obvious common denominator.
