MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 Opened Its Doors in Istanbul

MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, the international machine tools fair, brings together the leaders of the industry in Istanbul.

MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, 9th International Machine Tools, Metal - Sheet Metal Processing Machines, Holders - Cutting Tools, Quality Control Measurement Systems, CAD/CAM, PLM Software and Production Technologies Fair, organized by , in cooperation with the Machine Tools Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TİAD) and with the support of the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey and the Machinery Manufacturers' Association (MİB), brings together the global players of the industry in Istanbul.

The opening ceremony of the fair brought together leading representatives of the industry and production sectors. The opening was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Mr. Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Assembly President Mr. Ender Yılmaz, President of the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED) High Advisory Council, Mr. Adnan Dalgakıran, Chairman of the Board of Machine Tools Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TİAD), Mr. Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB), Mr. Osman Fatih İğrek, General Manager of Tüyap Fuarlar Yapım A.Ş and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Fair Producers Association (TFYD). İlhan Ersözlü and leading representatives of the industrial sector attended.

At the opening, attention was drawn to the role of MAKTEK Eurasia in increasing the international visibility and export capacity of the Turkish manufacturing industry, supporting access to new markets and developing new business connections.

MAKTEK Eurasia Emphasis from Sector Leaders

Tüyap Fairs Production Inc. İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Fair Producers Association (TFYD), stated that the scale reached by the fair reveals the sector's strong interest in technology and investment and said:

"MAKTEK Eurasia continues to grow and becomes a very important platform and meeting point. This year, 156 foreign companies participated directly. This further increases the international power of the fair. Because here, there is the opportunity to reach not only the Turkish market but also the Eurasian geography. We create an important platform both to sell machines to Turkey and introduce new technologies and to reach the Eurasian geography.

At the fair, which is held in 14 halls and an area of 120,000 m2, machines and technologies used in different sectors are exhibited. The technologies needed by many sectors, from the defense industry to automotive, from food to packaging, from plastic to agriculture, are included here, and we introduce new generation technologies that will shape the future of production to our visitors. A wide technology ecosystem, from digital production to robotics and automation, from artificial intelligence-supported solutions to interactive experience areas, comes together at MAKTEK Eurasia. This is one of the most important elements that reveal the importance of the fair. Osman Fatih İğrek, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB), stated that MAKTEK Eurasia is one of the important meeting points of the machinery industry and said that the fair is important in terms of following new technologies, shaping investment decisions and developing commercial cooperation. İğrek said:

"The Turkish machinery industry continues to strengthen its position in global markets by improving its production power with technological competencies. In addition to mechanical production capability, software, automation, digitalization, data use and artificial intelligence are becoming integral parts of machines. This transformation brings with it new investment and cooperation opportunities for our industry.

In his speech, TİAD Chairman Murat Akyüz drew attention to the strategic importance of MAKTEK Eurasia for the sector and said:

"MAKTEK Eurasia is now a global brand, one of the important meeting points of not only TİAD and Turkey, but also of Eurasia and the world. MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, which we opened its doors today, is beyond being a fair where machines are exhibited; it is a strategic showcase where we show the world the technological maturity, production power and global competitiveness achieved by Turkish engineering. In this period when the balances in the global industry are being reshaped, the world of production is also going through a significant transformation. It is no longer just mechanical power; artificial intelligence, digital Integration, automation and autonomous systems determine the future of production. MAKTEK Eurasia is at the center of this transformation in 2026, bringing the production technologies of the future to our industrialists today. The new generation technologies, high efficiency and sustainable production solutions exhibited at our fair this year increase the competitiveness of our domestic manufacturers in global markets and create an important basis for new export opportunities and strategic collaborations. Adnan Dalgakıran, Chairman of the High Advisory Council of the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED), stated that the pace of technological transformation in the world is increasing and that manufacturers should focus not only on their production capabilities, but also on their ability to foresee change, differentiate, cooperate and organize. Dalgakıran emphasized that having high-tech machines alone will not provide a competitive advantage in the new era and said:

"The pace of change in the world is increasing. Our most important asset in the face of this change is our ability to change and try to foresee the future. Even if we cannot be one of those who make the change, we have to be one of those who adapt to it the fastest. It is no longer enough to just produce; we need to think about how we will make a difference. You can buy the highest technology machine, but you should think about how you will make the difference three years later when everyone has the same machine. For this, we need to improve our organization and cooperation skills and establish a new ecosystem that brings together qualified human resources and experts from different fields." "MAKTEK is an important platform where new technologies and production tools meet with users in Eurasia. The machinery sector is not just about producing machines; the technological products we will develop here will also increase the competitiveness of other sectors of Turkey."

Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Assembly President Ender Yılmaz pointed out the importance of qualified human resources, as well as access to finance and labor costs, in maintaining the competitiveness of the industry and said:

"Let's incorporate as many robots, technologies and smart systems into production as we want, but if we do not have strong capital and the right manpower, it is not possible for these to be sufficient. One of our most important inputs is human capital. If we cannot strengthen human capital and train the right people, the investments we make will remain incomplete. At this point, we need not only new investments but also the protection of our existing businesses. We definitely need to protect our human resources and production dynamism."

Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), in his speech at the opening, drew attention to the transformation in global trade, Turkey's competitiveness in the machinery sector and the high value-added production potential of the sector, and said that the machinery sector has a strategic position in Turkey's exports. Stating that in addition to the increase in global goods trade, the share of services is also increasing, Karavelioğlu said:

"The machinery sector continues to be one of the most competitive areas in Turkey. High and medium-high technology products have a significant weight in our sector. Our machinery sector is gradually gaining a higher service mix with product design, engineering, installation, operation and after-sales services. The cost of technology development is certain, but the benefit it will provide is high. 972 of the 6,600 products exported in Turkey are related to the machinery sector. Therefore, we need to evaluate our potential in the machinery sector more strongly. It is one of the areas that will increase Turkey's competitiveness." Machinery and engineering intensive production is coming.”

30 percent increase in international visitor interest

While the number of companies and representatives taking part in the organization exceeded 1,300, the number of foreign participants reached 156.

MAKTEK Eurasia continues to be an international meeting point this year with direct participation from different parts of the world. Participation takes place from countries including Germany, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, China, France, South Korea, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Italy and Taiwan.

According to online ticket data, there is a 30 percent increase in the number of foreign visitors compared to the 2024 edition.

More than 200 international buyers from 18 countries are in MAKTEK Eurasia

More than 200 international buyers and purchasing delegation representatives from 18 countries are hosted at the fair with the Hosted Buyer Program held within the scope of MAKTEK Eurasia 2026.

Purchasing delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, Morocco, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Montenegro, Kosovo, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Russia, Serbia, Tunisia and Jordan will have the opportunity to closely examine new technologies and production solutions and establish direct contact with participating companies during the fair.

In addition to the guided fair tours to be held within the scope of the program, the Networking Meetup, which will be held in the 3rd Hall Hosted Buyer Lounge on September 29 between 14.00-16.00, will bring together participating companies and international buyers.

New products and technologies are at MAKTEK Eurasia for the first time

MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 brings together technologies in different areas of the manufacturing industry, from machine tools to metal and sheet metal processing machines, from cutting tools to quality control and measurement systems, from CAD/CAM software to robotics and automation solutions, under the same roof. Among the 1,208 machines, 132 robots and thousands of equipment registered within the scope of the fair, there are many new generation solutions introduced for the first time in Turkey.

Machine tools, 5-axis machining centers, CNC lathes and machining centers, laser cutting and welding technologies, quality control and measurement systems, cutting tools and tool holders, CAD/CAM and production software, robotics and automation systems and artificial intelligence-supported technologies are among the prominent product groups of the fair.

The technology power of the participants is carried to international markets

MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 brings the technology and production power of participating companies to the global production world, thanks to its cooperation with MTD CNC in order to strengthen its international visibility.

In the three-day special production work to be held within the scope of the cooperation, the technologies, products and production solutions of the participating companies will be recorded with professional video content. The prepared contents will be delivered to production professionals in different regions of the world via MTD CNC's international digital broadcast channels.

Thus, it is aimed to maintain the international visibility created at the fair after the fair and to support participating companies' access to global markets.

The production world of the future is experienced with MAKTEKVERSE

MAKTEKVERSE Experience Area, created in Hall 12A within the scope of the fair, introduces visitors to the future of production technologies. In the area, which offers the opportunity to experience the factories of the future with VR glasses and simulation tools, interactive shows are performed with humanoid robots and smart fair technologies meet with visitors.

In the MAKTEKVERSE Robot Show area, visitors are offered an interactive technology experience with robot dance shows, Unitree humanoid robot and robot dog performances.

MAKTEKVERSE Stage, on the other hand, focuses on the future of the industry as well as its present. Topics on the agenda of the production world, from CNC machine tool technologies to agent artificial intelligence, from production and efficiency strategies to physical AI, XR and digital twin technologies, are discussed by experts.
