Malagò responds to the controversy over his ineligibility: 'I have always been elected, I know the story'

"Miscounted, I was a member of the FIGC as a player for 12 years. I didn't leave such an important history in five-a-side football, but I won a federal championship, three championships and four Italian cups. I am the first president of the FIGC to have won an Italian championship and today, speaking of membership, I am a permanent member of the IOC, if this isn't being enlisted...". Thus the president of the FIGC, Giovanni Malagò, speaking to 'Fuori Onda', a Corriere della Sera project in collaboration with Edison, about the question raised of his presumed ineligibility.

"I would like to talk about something else, about all the big issues that are on the table of the FIGC, which we are dealing with despite everything - continued Malagò -. In my career as a sports manager I have always been elected, it seems right to remember this. However, I am calm, because I know the story and what happened in the past. I hoped that certain dynamics would cease with my election, but never mind, they are obviously part of the game", he concluded.
