The latter, after noting the impossibility for Paris Saint-Germain to organize this match in a fallback stadium, received guarantees from Stade Rennais to be able to ensure the organization of the match counting for the first day this Sunday, August 23 at 8:45 p.m.,” said the Professional Football League (LFP) in a press release. PSG will replace its pitch before the next matches According to PSG, "the latest heatwave episode, which follows the successive and exceptional heat waves which affected the Paris region this summer, greatly accelerated the deterioration of the pitch at the Parc des Princes, which is now particularly damaged". In his press release, the double European champion adds that his "teams have already identified a solution for replacing the pitch at the Parc des Princes with a view to the next matches, starting with the reception of AS Monaco on September 4" (3rd day of Ligue 1). The LFP has not specified whether the return match, Rennes-PSG, scheduled for the weekend of March 6, 2027, will in turn be reversed. But according to article 501 of the administrative regulations of the LFP: "In the event that the match cannot take place at a fallback stadium, the Competitions Commission has the option of reversing the match which will therefore take place with the visiting team. This reversal will have no impact on the rest of the schedule." Stade Rennais, which is therefore opening a ticket office at the last minute and has urgently requested its service providers for Sunday, could therefore host the Parisian club twice this season.
