2-year-old girl dies after being taken to hospital with injuries, police say

A 2-year-old girl died this Wednesday (4) after being admitted to a UPA with injuries. The stepfather was arrested red-handed by the police.

The mother left the girl in the care of her stepfather. He called a neighbor to take her to the UPA because she was unconscious.

The girl's grandfather reported that she had already had bruises on her face for around 15 days. Relatives warned the mother via audio about possible abuse.

According to the PM, the man has convictions for homicide, drug trafficking, corruption of minors, theft and reception in Mato Grosso.

A 2-year-old child died after being taken to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Novo Gama, on the outskirts of the Federal District, this Wednesday (4), according to the Military Police. In a statement, the PM reported that "health professionals reported that the child had injuries and bruises on his body, raising suspicions of violence."

In an interview with TV Anhanguera, Sergeant Cleiton da Mota said that, when the team arrived at the unit, the child was already dead. She had been taken to the place by her stepfather.

The stepfather was arrested red-handed and taken to the 1st Civil Police Station of Luziânia. According to police, the child's mother also provided clarification. As the names of those involved were not disclosed, g1 was unable to locate their defense.

"He denied all the facts. He said that the child had fallen into the bathroom, that those bruises were allergies," said the sergeant.
