1-year-old boy drowns after leaving home alone and falling into a dam in TO

One-year-old boy Weverton Dias Pereira da Silva died after falling into a dam in the rural area of ​​Formoso do Araguaia, southern region of the state. According to the Tocantins Public Security Secretariat (SSPTO), the child left the house alone.

The accident was recorded on Friday afternoon (23). Upon noticing her son's absence, the mother began looking for him around the region.

Weverton was found inside a dam, which is about 20 meters away from the family home. According to the SSP, the boy was removed from the water alive, but did not survive.

The Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Gurupi collected the body for forensic examinations. Afterwards, the body was released to the family this Friday (23).

The circumstances of the death will be investigated by the 84th Police Station of Formoso do Araguaia.
