HTC, an innovative design company for virtual reality platforms and ecosystems, and its subsidiary G REIGNS, which focuses on the development of 5G and future communication technologies, announced today (30th) that it has joined hands with Mongolian mobile communications carrier Mobicom Corporation LLC (Mobicom) and Taiyang Technology to successfully complete the real network deployment of 5G Standalone (5G SA) Open RAN in Mongolia. HTC pointed out that 5G Open RAN Through open interfaces, the network allows telecom operators to flexibly integrate technologies and equipment from different suppliers according to the needs of different markets and areas. For markets with vast territories, dispersed populations, or relatively limited network construction conditions, there is an opportunity to plan the network architecture based on actual needs, improving the flexibility of construction and subsequent expansion.

HTC said that in this cooperation, G REIGNS provided 5G Open RAN CU/DU platform and system integration capabilities, and introduced network management and performance optimization functions; Taiyang provided high-performance outdoor radio equipment to support wide area coverage and FWA applications; Mobicom combined its long-term accumulated experience in telecommunications network construction and operation in Mongolia to be responsible for local field deployment, testing and network optimization. Through cross-border and cross-vendor cooperation, the three parties jointly verified the stability and deployment capabilities of 5G Open RAN in real network environments.

HTC pointed out that as the global mobile communications industry continues to evolve from 5G Advanced to 6G, AI native, open architecture, software and multi-vendor interoperability are becoming important development directions for the next generation of communications. For G REIGNS, this live network deployment in Mongolia is not only a technical verification in a single field, but also further accumulates network deployment experience in different countries, geographical environments and operating conditions, continues to deepen the international Open RAN layout, and lays a practical foundation for the next generation network that is more open, smart and highly flexible in the future.

This project is promoted under the NOFO2 plan of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund (PWSCIF). G REIGNS, Mobicom and Taiyang Technology will continue to deepen their cooperation and further expand rural broadband, FWA and more special communication environment applications.
