Murder trial: Fabian case: report considers defendant to be guilty

According to a psychiatric report, the woman accused of murdering eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow is fundamentally guilty. The psychiatric-forensic expert Peter Keiper confirmed that the 30-year-old had a borderline-type personality disorder and a learning disability. However, these were not so severe that they could have significantly influenced the ability to control the crime at the time of the crime.

Also with regard to the ability to understand the injustice of the act she was accused of, the expert emphasized that, despite the psychological problems, the defendant was able to recognize the injustice of the alleged act to the “full extent”. The specialist, who has attended every day of the trial since the trial began on April 28, pointed to the defendant's psychopathic tendencies, which manifested themselves in callous and manipulative behavior aimed at exploiting others.

According to the prosecution, the woman stabbed Fabian to death on October 10, 2025 in a pond near Klein Upahl, around 15 kilometers from Güstrow, and then set the body on fire. The public prosecutor sees a motive for the crime in her relationship with Fabian's father. The defendant clearly rejected the allegations several times.

According to her own information, she has been receiving a disability pension since 2015 due to psychological problems. After the report, the taking of evidence is expected to be completed. This would be followed by arguments from the prosecution and defense on October 29th and 30th and possibly the verdict on November 10th.
