MPSP denounces criminal police officer for murder of Robert Ronald Ramos Vieira in Araçatuba

The Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo (MPSP) charged the criminal police officer suspected of shooting dead Robert Ronald Ramos Vieira, aged 29, in front of a bar in Araçatuba (SP).

With the complaint presented, the Court will assess whether the accusation meets the formal requirements and whether there is minimal evidence of authorship and materiality of the crime. The responsible judge can receive or reject the complaint. If you accept, the police officer will become a defendant in the case.

The crime took place on the night of August 30th and, according to the complaint, the officer, who was off duty at the time of the crime, fired three shots without giving the victim any chance of defense. Security camera images, obtained by TV TEM, show the moment of the shots. Watch above.

In the video, it is possible to see the moment when the police officer approaches Robert and a woman on the street. The agent pushes the victim back and points the gun at her stomach. Then he lifts Robert's shirt and shoots.

In the complaint sent to the Court, the MP highlighted that the shots put people in the area in danger and that the police officer did not give the victim any chance of defense.

According to the document, the shots were fired on a public street, in front of a commercial establishment in operation and frequented by several people at the time of the approach.

Furthermore, the complaint states that Robert was suddenly surprised, that the victim was unarmed and was not directly participating in any fight when he was hit by the gunshots.

Robert was rescued and taken by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) to Santa Casa de Araçatuba, but he did not survive his injuries. His body was buried in the Saudade Cemetery on September 1st.

The criminal police officer was arrested red-handed on the day of the crime and remains at the disposal of the Judiciary. The incident was registered as a homicide with police intervention.
