Forest fires in Muğla and Antalya: Intervention by air and land

A fire broke out in the forest in Yaraş District of Menteşe district of Muğla at around 05.30 for an unknown reason. The flames spread under the influence of the wind. Upon notice, 13 helicopters, 7 planes, 7 water tankers, 7 water tankers, 7 dozers, 12 construction machines, 10 vehicles and 229 personnel belonging to the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region. The flames are being intervened from the air and land.

The fire grew in a short time due to the wind in the region. Upon notice, air and land vehicles and fire brigades affiliated with Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region.

Teams are working to bring the fire under control.

The forest fire in Antalya's Serik district is being intervened by air and land. A fire broke out in the forest area in Akbaş District for an unknown reason.

Upon notice, Antalya Regional Directorate of Forestry teams were dispatched to the region. The fire is being fought with 5 planes, 15 helicopters, 75 water trucks, 3 work machines, 450 personnel and fire workers.

A forest worker, who was affected by smoke while fighting the fire that spread due to the wind, was taken to the hospital by medical teams. Precautions were taken by the gendarmerie teams in order to ensure security in the area where the fire was located and to enable the teams to continue their work more easily.

Commando units also supported the teams' work by taking security measures in the region. Serik District Governor Cemal Şahin, General Director of Forestry Bekir Karacabey and Antalya Regional Forestry Manager Kemal Kayıran follow the work from the fire management center.
