Pregnant woman dies and another is injured after being shot on a public street in a Salvador neighborhood

A woman was shot dead and another was injured this Friday morning (6), in the Liberdade neighborhood, in Salvador.

Teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called, but upon arriving at the scene, they found that she was already dead.

A second woman, who was passing through the region at the time of the crime, was shot in the leg.

A woman, six months pregnant, died and another was injured after being shot this Friday (6), on a public road in the Liberdade neighborhood, in Salvador.

According to the TV Bahia reporting team, the woman was initially identified only as Vanessa. A man who was walking by the place shot at Vanessa and the shots ended up hitting another woman who was passing by the place.

Teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called, but upon arriving at the scene, they found that she was already dead. The victim leaves four children.

The second woman was shot in the leg. She was rescued and taken to the State General Hospital (HGE). There is no information about her health status.

Military police officers from the 37th Independent Military Police Company (CIPM) were called and carried out investigations in the region to try to locate those responsible for the shooting.

In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) is investigating the case. The corporation highlighted that the victim has not yet been formally identified.

The Technical Police Department (DPT) was called to carry out an examination and send the body to the Legal Medical Institute (IML).

The police carry out interviews and other measures to identify the perpetrator and clarify the motivation for the crime. Until the last update of this report, no one had been arrested.
