The investigation was initiated just after the disaster that occurred on August 28, 2025 in Radom. Major Maciej "Slab" Krakowian - one of the most successful Polish F-16 pilots, leader of the Tiger Demo Team - died in it.

Only after collecting the evidence will it be possible to obtain a final expert opinion on the causes of the crash, and earlier, if necessary, partial opinions, e.g. regarding the psychophysical condition of the pilot at the time of the crash or the technical condition of the aircraft - said Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.

Maciej Krakowian was a graduate of the prestigious US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He had over 1,400 hours of flight time under his belt, including approximately 1,200 hours in the F-16. For 17 years he served at the 31st Tactical Air Base in Poznań-Krzesiny.

As we reported in August, the prosecutor's office has already questioned several dozen people in this case. One of the important pieces of evidence is a personal camera that belonged to Major Maciej "Slab" Krakowian. No one has been charged in connection with the disaster so far.

The last edition took place in 2023, when the Radom airport was visited by over 175,000 people. viewers. The event was organized every two years. Last year's edition was canceled after a disaster occurred during training before the start.
