NDR 2 wins German Radio Prize for best entertainment series “Barmbek Bump – Prange vs. Rohde”

The German Radio Prize for the best entertainment was awarded to the radio station NDR 2. The award was given to the series “Barmbek Bump – Prange vs. Rohde” by Andreas Altenburg with the actors Olli Dittrich and Bjarne Mädel.

The Grimme jury praised the series as a particularly entertaining radio format. It is possible to present everyday things in a pointed manner and to combine them with strong personalities and high recognition value. As protagonists, Dittrich and Mädel provided the special humor of the series.

The German Radio Prize was awarded on Thursday evening in front of around 1,000 guests at the Stage Theater on the Elbe in Hamburg. The Grimme Institute's independent jury selected the prize winners in ten categories from more than 400 submitted entries. The German Radio Prize is considered one of the most important awards in the German radio industry.

Lots of celebrities and good music offered

Katrin Bauerfeind and Thorsten Schorn hosted the evening. The prominent laudators included Susanne Daubner, Guido Maria Kretschmer, Pinar Atalay and Lutz van der Horst. There was also a lot of music on offer at the gala. On stage were, among others, Peter Maffay and Johannes Oerding, Rea Garvey and members of the musical “MJ – The Michael Jackson Musical”.
