Netanyahu Reminds Hezbollah Attacks by Showing a Pager at the UN

During his speech at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took a pager and reminded him of the attacks targeting Hezbollah members in Lebanon in September 2024.

Netanyahu showed the device to the delegates and said, "Do you remember the pagers? I can say that Hezbollah remembers them very well." he said.

These words of Netanyahu were a reference to the operation organized by Israel in 2024, in which explosives placed on pagers and radios were detonated remotely.

On September 17, 2024, thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah members throughout Lebanon exploded simultaneously, and similar explosions occurred on radios the next day.

Dozens of people lost their lives and thousands were injured in the attacks. Among the dead and injured were civilians, especially children.

While Israel initially did not officially claim responsibility for the attacks, Netanyahu later confirmed his country's role in the operation.
