Leftists and other curious people have gathered in rain jackets on Frihamnsdagarna in a windy Gothenburg. Soon Nooshi Dadgostar will take the stage.
- Love you, Nooshi Dadgostar begins the speech, which deals a lot with the fact that it has become too expensive to live and that V is a guarantor of a "real left-wing government".
Dadgostar has been clear that her party must sit in the government if Magdalena Andersson is to be promoted as prime minister - which the party has a congressional decision on.
But the contacts between V and S are frosty. Magdalena Andersson would rather be seen with Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist (C) and Ebba Busch (KD).
- The message that Magdalena Andersson so clearly gives that she can imagine joining the Christian Democrats is a red flag for many social democrats that I meet. To them, I really want to say: Cast your vote for the Left Party, even if you hadn't intended it from the beginning, to give Magdalena Andersson a signal about which direction she should go.
In Radio Aftonbladet's party leader hearing, Andersson doubted that Dadgostar had become a good minister and reiterated that V has a journey to governmental competence.
Shouldn't there be more trust between you and S for you to rule together?
- We have collaborated with each other for decades. At municipal, regional and parliamentary level. So of course this isn't about that, but it's political.
Does it bother you?
- The party leadership in the Social Democrats has been far to the right if you compare it to the grassroots. So maybe it's not surprising to me that when they themselves get to choose, it will be the Center Party that stands against everything that the labor movement believes in.
She says C wants to "crush welfare" and has been a "huge stumbling block in the pension group against increased pensions". Nevertheless, she can imagine cooperating with them.
Is there anything you can give the Center Party in a negotiation?
- Yes, of course, she says.
But she does not want to discuss the issues through the media. She would rather give examples of things she does not intend to give way to: higher wages for women and an increase in pensions by SEK 2,000.
Since DN's latest party leader interview with Nooshi Dadgostar, Expressen's review of V candidates expressing support for terrorist organizations and spreading extremist content has sparked debate. In addition, the Left Party's letter campaign for Palestinian prisoners has faced strong criticism after it was revealed that letters were sent to convicted terrorists and murderers.
When asked why it is in V that affairs connected to the Palestine issue have been discovered, she says that those who shared inappropriate material have had to resign because they do not reflect the party's views.
- We want to see a two-state solution and it is very important to us that it is international law that applies.
At the same time, she stresses that mistakes are made within all parties, and highlights the Landerholm affair and the Social Democrats' lottery scandal as examples.
- There will never be a government if it is parties that have never made a mistake or where nothing ever happens, because it doesn't exist.
But could you have been more clear that you stand for a two-state solution, for example?
- Everyone knows that we do, I would say. But you can always improve.
The Left Party has long criticized the government's criminal policy. But Nooshi Dadgostar says that the party does not want to tear up the Tidö parties' laws if they get power, not even ones they voted against. The exception is the lowering of the age of criminal liability to 14 years.
- What I am referring to is generally the stiffening of penalties that have been made. We need to evaluate them to see if they work. We see higher levels of violence in our society and then you need to balance between integrity and a certain amount of surveillance and repression.
The Left Party has also voted no to many of the government's proposals in migration policy. If V comes to power, the residence permit rule will be reinstated for particularly painful reasons, its abolition is behind the so-called teenage deportations, according to Dadgostar.
With two weeks left until the election, Dadgostar believes in a change of power this autumn, but reiterates that how big the political change will be will be determined by whether V is in the government.
- This is about if Magdalena Andersson is to become prime minister for a new right-wing government. If you don't want that, you need to send a signal.
