The annual rush to the beer tents begins this Saturday: the 191st Munich Oktoberfest opens its doors. The world's largest folk festival offers beer, bratwurst and rides until October 4th. In order to feel the Oktoberfest flair, you don't necessarily have to travel to Bavaria. Where the Oktoberfest atmosphere is spreading in Hesse:
Oktoberfest in Wiesbaden
On Thursday, September 24th, the Erbenheimer Kerb starts with its Oktoberfest as a prelude to the Kerbe weekend. Admission is from 5:30 p.m. Seats cost 20 euros, standing rooms cost 17 euros. Tickets are available by email to [email protected].
The Oktoberfest at Lake Dutenhofen
From September 25th to October 3rd the motto at Lake Dutenhofen near Wetzlar is “O' zapft is!”. Pop stars Heino, Vincent Gross and Isi Glück will be on stage on Friday and Saturday. Festive beer flows and Bavarian specialties are served. Day tickets are available in advance for 32.90 euros. Admission is from 6 p.m.
Oktoberfest in the Giessen Congress Hall
Seniors aged 60 and over are invited to the Giessen Oktoberfest in the Congress Hall on Saturday, September 26th. Entry costs 10 euros, with a Giessen pass 8 euros. Pretzels and Obazda are already included in the admission price. Tickets are available at Giessen Town Hall or on site on the day of the event. Starts at 2 p.m.
Bavarian evening in Willingen
In the Usselner Schützenhalle you can celebrate like in Munich on Saturday, September 26th from 6:30 p.m. Matching live music, moderation and a festival beer tapping bring the Oktoberfest to northern Hesse. Tickets are available for 13 euros on the Burschenclub Usseln 1612 website.
Oktoberfest in Seligenstadt
This year, the people of Seligenstadt are also wearing traditional costumes and dirndls. The Sisters' House Association is holding its Oktoberfest on September 26th and 27th in the Heimatbundhalle. Admission from 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the Becker butcher shop.
The Frankfurt Oktoberfest
The beer is flowing in the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt until October 11th. Party evenings and morning pints are planned. In the evening it starts at 5.30 p.m., with breakfast at 10.30 a.m. Tickets cost 17 to 50 euros.
Oktoberfest in Kassel
The organizers are creating a beer tent atmosphere at and in Kassel-Calden Airport on Saturday, October 3rd, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Oktoberfest and gourmet market are being relaunched. In addition to music, food and children's programs, a vehicle exhibition is the highlight.
In the forest restaurant Herbsthäuschen there is also an Oktoberfest atmosphere on October 3rd - with beer, Federweißes, music and suitable food.
Oktoberfest in Herborn
The Herborner Oktoberfest has signed Ballermann greats such as Mickie Krause and Ikke Hipgold. Anna-Maria Zimmermann is also scheduled to appear. The celebrations take place from October 9th to 11th and on October 16th and 17th; every Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. The morning pint starts at 11 a.m. on Sundays. Tickets are available online for 29.90 euros.
Hanau Oktoberfest
In the Lamboy/Tümpelgarten district, the Sandelmühle clubhouse will virtually be transformed into an Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 10th. TSV 1860 Hanau holds its Oktoberfest here.
The Limburg Oktoberfest
Limburg will be the venue for a folk festival from October 15th to 20th. Traditional costumes, a marquee and a brass band bring the Bavarian atmosphere to Central Hesse. On Thursday the festival opens at 6 p.m., on other days between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Entry costs 15 to 20 euros.
Oktoberfest in Rüdesheim
In Rüdesheim you can experience the Oktoberfest atmosphere on the Rhine: on board the MS Rhein Star on October 16th and 17th, the beer mug must not fall out of your hand when there are waves. The ship starts at 7 p.m. and departs at 7:45 p.m. Then it's three hours with DJ, beer and live program. Tickets are available for 39.90 euros each.
Oktoberfest in the Knallhütte
In the Baunataler Brauhaus Knallhütte it will be Bavarian on Saturday, October 17th from 6 p.m.: with beer, knuckle, chicken, white sausage and suitable music. Entry costs 15 euros.
Heiner Wiesn in Darmstadt
Classic Oktoberfest attractions such as bull riding and nail racing await visitors in Darmstadt. Celebrations take place at the Messplatz from October 23rd to November 7th. Music is provided by the Hofbräu Regiment. Tickets cost 47.50 euros in advance.
