Murder in Amendolara: woman dead after beating, her partner tracked down in Bari

The 42-year-old Albanian companion of Ornella Forestefano, the 46-year-old who died during the night in Trebisacce hospital, in the Cosentino area, was tracked down in the port of Bari while he was about to leave. A real manhunt had started against him throughout the Upper Ionian area of ​​Cosenza. The Carabinieri of the Cassano allo Ionio Company, under the coordination of the Castrovillari Public Prosecutor's Office, were looking for him for the brutal murder of his partner, Ornella Forastefano, 46 ​​years old, which occurred in their home in Amendolara.

The woman was savagely beaten. Immediately after the attack, she was transported and abandoned in agony in front of the entrance to the emergency room of the Guido Chidichimo hospital in Trebisacce. The doctors at the hospital immediately noticed the body and attempted a desperate race against time to resuscitate her, but the very serious internal and external injuries she suffered left her no escape. In fact, he had serious injuries and multiple traumas and had wounds to his face and neck.

The Carabinieri investigators are now combing through the video surveillance cameras in the hospital area. The aim is to confirm whether it was the partner who dumped the woman in front of the structure before fleeing in a vehicle and then being found in Bari.

Ornella Forastefano ran a bar in the center of Trebisacce together with her two children. She was originally from Cassano allo Ionio and resident in Amendolara. She was the daughter of Antonio Forastefano, killed in 1999 while leaving his fish shop in Marina di Sibari and niece of Domenico, Pasquale's father, indicated by investigators as one of the regents of the 'Ndrangheta gang of the same name. Circumstances which, however, at the moment, do not appear to be connected to the murder. His partner, tracked down in Bari while probably trying to reach his country of origin, Albania, is known to the police for crimes relating to narcotics.

The two had been living together for about a year. The man is currently being questioned by investigators to try to reconstruct the dynamics of the events and ascertain his possible responsibilities. At the moment no judicial measures have been taken against him.
