A Civil Police operation against an organization investigated for drug trafficking and money laundering resulted in arrests and seizures of vehicles, jewelry and money this Thursday (3), in Rio Claro (SP).

Investigations indicate that the group operated in the Jardim Araucária neighborhood and would also be responsible for moving and hiding resources obtained through illicit activities.

In addition to the seizures, the Court ordered asset blocking measures in the amount of R$2,949,977.68, including unavailability of assets and blocking of amounts held in financial institutions in the name of those investigated.

Operation Hidra, carried out by the Narcotics Investigations Department (Dise), is still ongoing. According to the police, 11 search and seizure warrants were executed. Seven people had already been arrested until the last update of this report.

Investigations indicate that the group operated in Jardim Araucária and would also be responsible for moving and hiding resources obtained through illicit activities.

According to the Civil Police, the operation was based on investigation and financial intelligence reports that identified the structure of the organization and its flow of resources.

Seizures

During the investigation, several vehicles, jewelry, cash, cell phones and electronic media were seized. The material collected will still be counted by the responsible teams.

In addition to the seizures, the Court ordered asset blocking measures in the amount of R$2,949,977.68, including unavailability of assets and blocking of amounts held in financial institutions in the name of those investigated.

Six preventive arrest warrants were also served against suspects identified as members of the organization's top brass.

According to the Civil Police, the action seeks to affect not only those directly involved in drug trafficking, but also the financial structure that supported the group's activities.

The name Operation Hydra refers to the creature from Greek mythology known for having multiple heads. According to the police, the choice symbolizes the different members and areas of activity of the organization under investigation.
