Mitsubishi's new generation Outlander is launched in Taiwan, with three models planned, priced starting from 1.169 million yuan. Pictured is the elegant version.

Mitsubishi's new fourth-generation Outlander was launched in Taiwan yesterday (22nd). At the same time, it removed its domestic status and replaced it with imported goods from Japan. It launched the entry-level Elegant Edition, the mid-range Premium Edition, and the top-spec S-AWC Extreme. There are three models in total, priced at 1.169 million yuan, 1.289 million yuan and 1.389 million yuan respectively. The domineering appearance and high-quality cabin with greatly improved materials have entered the most competitive mid-sized SUV market in China with a brand-new attitude.

The square and majestic outline creates a new image of the Outlander. The iconic Dynamic Shield design style is paired with a separate headlight set to create a domineering visual experience. The body size is also significantly enlarged to 4,720×1,860×1,754mm and the wheelbase is 2,705mm. The rims are 18 inches for entry models and upgraded to 20 inches for mid-range and above models. Three car color options are available: neon white, dark night gray and moonstone gray, of which moonstone gray requires an additional price of 10,000 yuan.

The interior layout emphasizes the sense of technology, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument and a 12.3-inch touch screen as the main features. It supports wireless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also equipped with a Yamaha audio system, three-zone climate control and a Level 2 driving assistance system. Both the entry-level and mid-level models are configured with 5 seats, and the top model has a 5+2-seater layout that is rare in China, providing more flexible space utilization.

The power is uniformly equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a tax advantage, and a 48V light oil-electric system is added to further save fuel consumption. It has an overall power of 176 horsepower and 28.5 kilograms of torque. It is equipped with a CVT gearbox that can simulate 8-speed shifting. The front-wheel drive model (elegant version, premium version) can achieve a fuel consumption of 14.2 kilometers per liter, and the four-wheel drive (S-AWC extreme version) is 13.6 kilometers per liter.
