Women from Santos, Praia Grande, Guarujá and Itanhaém, on the coast of São Paulo, will be able to participate in health actions this Saturday (17), as part of the Pink October program. Among the services offered are preventive exams, referrals for mammography, vaccinations and lectures.
The activities are part of the awareness campaign about the prevention and early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer. Some of the procedures require prior scheduling, so patients must check the service conditions before attending the units.
Santos
The municipal polyclinics of Santos will have special programming from 9 am to 3:30 pm, with lectures, conversation circles, physical activities, preventive exams and vaccinations. Check the actions per unit:

Vila Mathias All day Preventative, guidance on self-examination, mammograms, rapid tests, vaccination, nutritional assessment and gypsy dancing.
There will also be traveling vaccinations at Praça Almirante Gago Coutinho, in Ponta da Praia, from 10am to 4pm. It is necessary to present a vaccination card or a photo ID. The Complexo Hospitalar dos Estivadores (CHE) will perform mammograms from 9:30 am to 6:50 pm, exclusively for previously scheduled patients.
Guarujá
The Women's Institute – Casa Rosa, in Vila Maia, will hold a joint effort from 8 am to 5 pm for previously scheduled patients awaiting care in the municipal network. 85 procedures are planned, distributed as follows:
40 breast ultrasounds;
25 Implanon insertions;
20 electrocardiograms.
Another joint effort is scheduled for Saturday (24), with the same procedures and gynecological care. The city hall expects to serve around 165 patients in this second stage.
Praia Grande
The 31 Family Health Units (Usafas) in Praia Grande will operate from 9 am to 4 pm, with Pap smear collection, clinical evaluation for referral to mammography, consultations and other procedures. There will also be dental care and insertion of an intrauterine device (IUD) and Implanon, by appointment and in accordance with municipal protocols.
To receive assistance, you must present a photo ID and unit card. In the case of a Pap smear, the patient must not be menstruating and must avoid sexual intercourse, creams and vaginal douches in the two days before the exam.
Between Monday (19) and Friday (23), Usafas will also have extended opening hours, from 5pm to 7pm, to increase women's access to health services.
Itanhaém
The Specialized Center for Children's and Women's Health (Cescrim) will carry out Implanon insertions from 7am to 4pm. The unit is located at Avenida Tiradentes, 184, in Jardim Mosteiro.
The Family Health Unit (USF) Gaivota will have programming from 9 am to 3 pm, with breakfast, collection of preventive exams and other activities. The address is Avenida Flácides Ferreira, 500, in the Gaivota neighborhood.
The actions are part of the municipal Pink October program, which will have activities in other health units throughout the month.
