Mitsubishi's new facelifted Pajero Japanese model and price revealed

Mitsubishi released a completely new facelifted Pajero on September 2. Both the exterior styling and the interior layout have evolved, giving the popular off-road SUV a completely new look. The original factory planned that the facelifted Pajero will be sold first in Thailand, where it is produced, and will later be launched in Japan and Australia. However, recently, Japanese media revealed in advance the model lineup and price of the Japanese facelifted Pajero, which will provide GLS, GSR, Exceed and Super Exceed. There are four grades to choose from. The local price is 6.193 to 7.9508 million yen, which is about NT$1.27 to 1.63 million. It is expected to start pre-sales in Japan in October and be officially launched in December.

The facelifted Pajero is built on the same ladder-shaped chassis as the Triton pickup truck, with a length, width and height of 4,920 × 1,925 × 1,910 mm and a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. The body size is added with the "Prestige" high-end texture, combined with the original "Confidence" reliable off-road capability and "Comfort" ride comfort. It has the latest generation exterior design, the domineering front and the rugged body outline, demonstrating the style of an off-road king.

The interior of the car has a three-row, seven-seater configuration, equipped with a 14.3-inch digital instrument and a 14.3-inch central screen, and provides MI-PILOT driving assistance, 3D surround imaging, 8 SRS auxiliary airbags and Dynamic Sound Yamaha Ultimate 12-speaker audio system.

The facelifted Pajero is equipped with a 2.4-liter diesel engine, equipped with a single variable geometry turbocharging system, with a maximum torque of 48.9 kgm, and is matched with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The ground clearance is as high as 230mm, and has an entry angle of 30.4 degrees, a longitudinal breakover angle of 22.6 degrees and a departure angle of 25.8 degrees. It is paired with S-AWC and Super Select 4WD-II four-wheel drive technology to ensure excellent off-road capabilities.
