Vietnam’s VinFast launches new entry-level electric vehicle VF 2, priced from approximately NT$230,000

VinFast, a new electric vehicle brand from Vietnam, recently released the new entry-level pure electric car VF 2. With an affordable price of 188 million VND (approximately NT$230,000), it has become the brand's latest "national electric vehicle" choice. In view of the fact that pure electric cars such as Citroen Ami and Fiat Topolino are quite popular in Europe and the United States, VinFast revealed that it intends to make the new VF 2 Enter the above markets and provide more affordable entry-level electric vehicle options for the local area.

VinFast's current main sales models in the United States are the VF 8 and VF 9 pure electric SUVs. The VF 2 is a new entry-level pure electric car launched by VinFast. It has a compact body size of 3,090 x 1,496 x 1,663 mm in length, width and height, and a wheelbase of 2,065 mm. The overall car is smaller than the Japanese K-Car, but smaller than the Citroen. The Ami and Fiat Topolino (2,410 mm in length) are much larger, providing seating space for four people and reducing the feeling of oppression in the car through the high roof design.

Although it is positioned as an entry-level model, VF 2 comes standard with LED headlights, 13-inch wheels, 7-inch digital instruments, climate control and a number of safety technologies, and is not sloppy in terms of equipment.

The new VF 2 adopts a single-motor rear-wheel drive configuration, equipped with an 18.3 kWh battery pack, with a power output of 40 horses, 6.6 kg-meter, and a range of 210 kilometers. It is mainly used for short-distance commuting in the city. If a 24 kW DC fast charging device is used, the charging time from 10 to 70% is 34 minutes.
