Statement from Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif on the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif made statements regarding his great satisfaction with the signing of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement by US President Donald Trump, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in his post on the social media platform of US-based company X, emphasized that he was pleased with Trump's "kind expressions of support" regarding the signing of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement.

Underlining that permanent peace is the most basic prerequisite for a bright and prosperous future, Sharif said, "Pakistan, together with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey, will continue to play a constructive role in the defense of both our own countries and the entire region." he stated.

Sharif noted that he would like to congratulate Trump "for his courageous and determined leadership that contributed to saving millions of lives by preventing a nuclear disaster in South Asia."

US President Trump shared a post about the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement on his social media account.

In his post, he said, "I am very happy to see that Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan have signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement." Using his statement, Trump stated that the agreement in question showed that the Middle East came together and countries could defend themselves more effectively.

The US President said, "I congratulate the great leaders of the three countries in question. This is a big, brave and important first step. It is incredible." He made his assessment.
