PF arrests Márcio Canella, from União Brasil, the second most voted state deputy in RJ

In addition to four police officers, agents arrested Márcio Canella, from União Brasil, this Thursday (15). Former mayor of Belford Roxo, he was the second most voted state deputy in this election. And delegate Marcus Amim, former president of Detran and former state secretary of Civil Police in the government of Cláudio Castro, from PL.

According to the investigation, the two are suspected of commanding an armed criminal organization, which would use a network of gas stations in Rio to launder money. In the decision signed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, Márcio Canella is named as political patron and high-ranking articulator of the criminal organization, playing a liaison role between members of the economic nucleus, public agents and political structures. And, according to the PF, he had relations with militias and the Red Command.

The Court ordered the suspension of the activities of 112 suspicious companies. Of these, 96 are gas stations. The Federal Police states that the scheme generated R$7.6 billion in revenue over six years. The group is being investigated for criminal association, active corruption, money laundering and illegal sale of fuel, among other crimes.
