Fratin picket line in Algeria for the Southern Hydrogen Corridor

"For Italy, hydrogen represents one of the fundamental solutions for achieving decarbonisation objectives with the ultimate aim of achieving climate neutrality by 2050". This was revealed by the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, who arrived in Algiers tomorrow to participate in the second Penta-Ministerial meeting on the Southern Hydrogen Corridor and meeting the Algerian Minister of Energy and Renewable Energy, Mourad Adjal.

The meeting, we read in a note from Mase, "was an opportunity to confirm the excellent relationship established between the two countries in the energy sector and to explore new opportunities for collaboration between Italy and Algeria. The possibility of strengthening the interconnections between the two countries was also reiterated during the bilateral meeting.

"Hydrogen - added Pichetto Fratin in conversation with Minister Adjal - will be able to contribute significantly to increasing the energy security of our countries by diversifying supplies and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. This is also one of the reasons why the project was included in the Mattei Plan promoted by the Italian Government, which is based on a model of opportunities, benefits and shared development".
