Community pool in Salamanca generates structural risk and reaches the BOE

The installation of a swimming pool in the community patio of a block in Salamanca has reached the Official State Gazette due to the danger it posed to the garages below. This is stated in the announcement that the city council published on Wednesday in the BOE due to the impossibility of notifying and warning the person who did it.

The advertisement explicitly cites the risk that the pool poses for the floor of that patio, under which the garages are located. "Due to the dimensions of the installed pool, it is estimated that it can contain a volume of water of 2 cubic meters, which would imply a use overload of more than 500kg/m2, which could cause a collapse of the structure," the council's announcement specifies.

It must be taken into account that to fill two cubic meters you need 2,000 liters of water and that means an approximate weight of 2,000 kilos. "It was not a very high pool, but it was large, which generated a danger for the community," says a neighbor quoted by La Gaceta de Salamanca.

The truth is that, despite warnings from some neighbors, the pool has continued to be installed all summer. The Urban Planning area of ​​the Salamanca city council was informed of its placement on May 28, but has not found the person responsible because that block, located in the Garrido neighborhood, is made up of several communities of owners.
