Police comply with precautionary measures in operation against faction in Rondônia

The second phase of the operation was carried out in August and targeted those involved in attacks on internet providers in Jaru (RO) and Theobroma (RO), linked to drug trafficking in Rondônia.

According to the Civil Police, 10 precautionary search and seizure measures were carried out in Pimenta Bueno and Porto Velho. Searches and searches were also carried out in prison units in both cities, mainly in wings intended for members of the Red Command.

During a press conference, delegate Rondinelly Moreira stated that investigations indicate that members of the faction used the prison system to pass on orders that were carried out outside.

According to the delegate, the lawyer is being investigated for acting as a link between members of Comando Vermelho who are in prison and members of the organization who are outside the penitentiary system. The police are also investigating whether he encouraged the use of telephone devices by some inmates. The lawyer's identity was not disclosed.

According to the delegate, some materials seized during the operation caught the attention of investigators. The content will still be analyzed to verify whether it is related to the crimes being investigated.

“Now we have to analyze everything that was seized and, in fact, understand the context so that I can later bring you more information about whether or not what was seized is illegal,” he explained.

The operation was carried out by the 2nd Organized Crime Repression Police Station (DRACO2), linked to the Department of Strategy and Combating Organized Crime (DECCO), with support from the State Secretariat for Security, Defense and Citizenship (Sesdec) and the State Secretariat for Justice (Sejus).
