Military police officer is killed after approaching Senador Camará

According to the Military Police and DHC investigations, the police officer was off duty and was passing through Rua Mucuripe, in the region known as Orla do Viegas, accompanied by his son-in-law, when he saw a group consuming alcoholic beverages and drugs.

According to his son-in-law, the corporal decided to make an approach. During the action, he allegedly got into a physical fight with one of the men, identified as Allan Sérgio de Oliveira Meirelles, who managed to take the police officer's pistol.

According to the investigation, the PM tried to return to the car to look for a second weapon, but was hit by shots fired by the shooter. José Luiz died at the scene.

Images from a security camera recorded the criminal's escape. The video shows Allan on the back of a motorcycle leaving the region shortly after the crime. According to the police, during his escape he even fired shots into the air.

Hours later, the pistol was recovered by agents. Just like the criminal, who was also found in Senador Camará.

Allan was charged with double homicide, robbery, illegal possession of a firearm and discharge of a firearm.

Corporal José Luiz's wake will take place this Monday (14) at the Jardim da Saudade Cemetery, in Sulacap. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm, and the burial will take place at 4:30 pm.
