The police searched for an armed person at schools in Lycksele - no weapon was found

• At 12.56 the police receive a call where a person claims to have seen a person with a weapon-like object outside near Tannbergsskolan on Södermalm in Lycksele.

• At 1:04 p.m., the first police patrol drives past the place where the person was said to have gone. 13.08 the first patrol enters the school. No person matching the description has been found and no weapon-like object has been found.

• The students at the school are accommodated. Students at Södermalmsskolan and the children at a nearby preschool are also accommodated.

• In connection with the work at the school, bangs were heard, which turned out to be from the construction program's nail guns. Students were asked to pause their work.

• In a later call, there were sightings of a person near another school and two preschools, on Norräng in Lycksele. The person had work clothes and an object in his hand. These were also accommodated, but only for a short time. The person probably worked clearing work.

• A report of serious weapons crime has been drawn up based on the information in the first alarm call. No one is suspected of a crime and no one is injured.

• Pupils had to leave the schools because At 5:30 p.m., the operation ended on site. Investigation work continues, with door knocking in the area.

• Tannbergsskolan has around 600 students, Södermalmsskolan around 120 students and Norrängsskolan around 250 students.

All students and staff at Tannbergsskolan have been allowed to go home as the police task force searched the premises.

The first had to leave after around an hour and the last were evacuated at 5pm, according to the head of school Ellinor Häreskog.

- Then they closed the school for all leisure activities in order to search the school with a dog. Tomorrow morning we will meet with the staff to catch up on questions, then they will meet with the students.

Several schools in Lycksele were evacuated after someone alerted the police. This week they had a theme week with school safety.

During the day, the municipality went into staff mode. At 18:00 it was announced that the emergency center at S:t Mikaelsgården was closing down because the need for support was low.

- I am very happy that we had routines for this and that we practiced accommodation. The staff feel calm, they have known what to do.
