Politico: The EU plans to adopt a new package of sanctions against Russia in mid-October

A new package of European Union (EU) sanctions against Russia could be adopted in mid-October. This was reported by Politico magazine, citing sources.

In particular, on September 1, the foreign ministers of the European Union plan to hold an informal meeting in Wicklow, Ireland, where they want to agree on a draft of new anti-Russian restrictions. It is expected that 800 individuals and the same number of legal entities will fall under it. The possibility of once again raising the issue of using Russia's frozen assets is also being considered.

“The strategy is to use all available means. We apply all possible sanctions regimes,” the publication quotes one of the European officials as saying.
