Poland U-21 defeats Sweden 3-0 in the European Championship qualifiers

It was an evening full of emotions at the stadium in Katowice. The young Poles, led by Jerzy Brzęczek, left no doubts to their rivals from Sweden, winning 3-0 after two goals by Bartosz Mazurek and a goal by Daniel Bąk in added time. This is the ninth victory of the Poles in the qualifying rounds - our youth players have not lost a single point so far.

Mazurka is the hero of the meeting

The match was under the control of the hosts from the very beginning. The Swedes focused on defense, but were unable to stop the rushing Poles. In the 40th minute, Bartosz Mazurek made a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area, opening the scoring. After the break, the same player increased the lead by converting Daniel Mikołajewski's cross and scoring with a header to make it 2-0. The Poles dotted the i's in added time. Daniel Bąk made the score 3-0.

The last step before the finals

The White and Reds are already one step away from direct promotion to the European Youth Championships. They have scored 27 points in nine games and have an impressive goal record of 26-2. They will play their last qualifying match on October 5 away against Italy, who are second in Group E.

What's next? Fight for championships and games

The winners of nine groups and the best second-place team will advance directly to the European Championship final tournament. The remaining runners-up teams will compete in the play-offs.

The three best teams from the U-21 European Championship will go to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
