Teacher is dismissed after harassing student during test in Bauru

According to the police report, the case happened on Tuesday (22), while the teenager was taking a test. The teacher approached and asked embarrassing questions about the bra the young woman was wearing.

Afterwards, he asked the student to make a request, stating that he would make another in return. Without understanding the initial intention and thinking it was a joke, the girl responded.

At that moment, the teacher harassed her again and asked her to keep the episode a secret. The teenager reported what happened to her mother and the school coordinator.

In a note, the unit's management reported that it welcomed the student, included the case in the Conviva-SP program and supported the family in registering the incident with the DDM.

The teacher remains away from his duties while the case is investigated by the police authorities and the São Paulo State Department of Education.

According to the mother, the school director instructed the registration of the police report at DDM and explained that the man was not the young woman's direct teacher, but accompanied a deaf student at the educational institution.

Also according to the bulletin, a colleague of the teenager also reported that she had already been harassed by the teacher.

In a statement, the Regional Education Unit (URE) of Bauru reported that it repudiates any form of harassment, that the teacher was removed from his duties and that a preliminary investigation was opened.

The institution also reported that it welcomed the student, began the active listening process together with the young woman's guardian and registered the case with the Coexistence Improvement and School Protection Program (Conviva-SP). The school also informed that the student will be accompanied by a professional from the Psychologists in Schools program.
